Michael Rawdan: Improving the financial experience means giving patients options

With high deductibles making patients more responsible for higher portions of their medical bills, failing to give them viable payment options could be costly for an organization's bottom line.


To address that, St. Luke's Health System completely transformed the experience for patients, using analytics to better understand accounts and offering options such as longer term payment plans to patients who may need help paying down their balances.

Michael Rawdan, director of revenue cycle and patient experience, explained how St. Luke's set those plans in motion during a presentation Tuesday at the Revenue Cycle Solutions Summit.
