ICD-10

U.S. healthcare is amidst a major transition from ICD-9, one of the major sets of diagnostic codes used to document and bill care procedures, to ICD-10, a much wider and deeper set of codes with increased granularity. The transition to the newest iteration of the International Classification of Diseases affects all healthcare organizations that document and bill care, and effectively increases the number of active diagnostic and procedural codes from about 20,000 to more than 100,000.
