IncentOne Provides Incentive Solution to CIGNA

IncentOne Provides Incentive Solution to CIGNA

January 26, 2009 | Industry News Release
Source: Healthcare Finance News

LYNDHURST, N.J. – IncentOne, the leading provider of integrated incentive solutions to the healthcare industry, announced today that CIGNA, a global health service company, has launched a new "points-based" health incentive program with IncentOne's Health Power incentive technology solution. CIGNA will offer employers ways to motivate their employees toward improved health and wellness by offering various incentives tied to a variety of programs, including the completion of a health assessment and biometric screenings, and participation in disease management programs that focus on depression, heart disease and diabetes, as well as lifestyle management programs such as tobacco cessation.

With IncentOne's Health Power solution, CIGNA will be targeting all populations, from healthy, at-risk and those with a chronic illness/condition to maintain, promote and restore the health of its valued members.

"IncentOne and CIGNA are dedicated to improving our healthcare system by helping employers reduce healthcare costs and individuals improve their health," says

Michael Dermer , CEO and President of IncentOne. "It is widely accepted that incentives are key to driving healthy behaviors. Through its incentive points program, CIGNA enables employers to say to their employees 'be healthy and be rewarded' and to realize the reduction in healthcare costs and increases in productivity that result."

IncentOne and industry research shows that incentives are proven to increase engagement in population health management programs. CIGNA's employer groups will be able to offer their employees incentives for completing health activities that can be used towards choices from hundreds of national retailers and name brand merchandise; and for contributions to health reimbursement accounts or healthcare premium reductions, once the program is fully implemented later this year. By offering employees their choice of reward for participating in the health and wellness programs, each individual can choose a reward that is of personal interest to them.

Employee program participants will be able to access their personal incentive accounts through the myCIGNA.com web portal to view programs available to them, points they have earned for participation in the various programs, points redeemed and other valuable information.
