Former California Gov. Pete Wilson joins U.S. HealthWorks board of directors

VALENCIA, CA – U.S. HealthWorks, one of the nation’s largest operators of outpatient healthcare centers for the treatment of work-related injuries and urgent care needs, today announced that former California Gov. Pete Wilson has joined the Company’s board of directors.

“I am looking forward to working with the leadership of U.S. HealthWorks as the firm enters a new growth phase,” said Governor Wilson. “As a partner in helping employers maintain healthy and productive workforces, the Company plays an important role in the American economy.”

Gov. Pete Wilson has almost 40 years of public service experience and was the 36th governor of California, serving from 1991 to 1999. During his tenure as governor, California faced many fiscal challenges, but Gov. Wilson led the state into a strong economic recovery with strict spending discipline. His aggressive and effective economic development policy reforms won dramatic increases in investment and job creation for California.

Gov. Wilson also served eight years as a U.S. Senator, 11 years as mayor of San Diego, and five years as a California state assemblyman. He received his B.A. from Yale University and, after serving three years in the Marine Corps as an infantry officer, earned a J.D. from the School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley.

“We are honored to have Governor Wilson join our board of directors,” said Daniel D. Crowley, CEO of U.S. HealthWorks. “Governor Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help guide our Company as we grow.”

U.S. HealthWorks in January announced the completion of a $175 million financing package that will support the company in its ongoing occupational health clinic acquisition strategy.
