NEW HAVEN, CT – The Yale New Haven Health System in Connecticut has announced plans to automate the extraction of data from invoices throughout its three healthcare delivery networks.

Brainware, Inc., an Ashburn, Va.-based provider of data capture and enterprise search technology, will employ its Brainware Distiller product at Yale New Haven Health. The health system provides clinical care through its Yale-New Haven, Bridgeport and Greenwich delivery networks with a medical staff of 3,657.

Carl Mergele, CEO at Brainware, said Brainware Distiller would integrate with the Lawson Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Perceptive Software's ImageNow Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution currently in use at Yale New Haven Health.

"Healthcare has been one of the fastest growing markets for automated data capture," said Mergele. "The hospitals and healthcare organizations that we engage with recognize that our solution can help them find the hidden cash in accounts payable and redirect that money towards funding patient care initiatives."

Yale New Haven Health has 1,543 total licensed beds at its three hospitals. In fiscal year 2007, the system had total assets of $1.22 billion and net revenue of $1.58 billion.
