Vendor Notebook - TransUnion buys MedData

TransUnion, a Chicago-based provider of credit and information management services for healthcare and other industries, has acquired MedData, a Charlotte, N.C.-based provider of healthcare insurance information and data solutions for hospitals, physician practices and major healthcare insurance companies.

Craneware, Inc., an Orlando, Fla.-based developer of revenue cycle management solutions, has announced that Intermountain Healthcare, based in Salt Lake City, will deploy the company’s Chargemaster Toolkit chargemaster automation solution, as well as Online Reference Toolkit and Physician Revenue Toolkit.

The SCIOinspire Corp., a Hartford, Conn.-based provider of analytics-driven business process solutions for health plans and hospitals, has launched version 2.0 of PROFormance, the company’s care management savings analysis and reporting application.

Cardinal Health, based in Dublin, Ohio, has launched the Connect System, an inventory management solution designed to help laboratories better control supply chain expenses, improve efficiency and free up staff time to better focus on patient care.

AMICAS, Inc., a Boston-based developer of imaging and information management solutions, has announced that Asheville Radiology Associates of Asheville, N.C., has signed a new contract to use AMICAS Financials for radiology billing, AMICAS Dashboards for business intelligence and AMICAS Patient Services and AMICAS Payer Services for streamlining billing processes. The company has also announced that Central Kentucky Radiology, a 24-radiologist practice in Lexington, Ky., is implementing the company’s Radiology Billing and RIS solutions.

The MRO Corporation, a King of Prussia, Pa.-based developer of release-of-information, audit tracking and document management solutions, has announced that its Audit Tracker Online solution is compatible with the American Hospital Association’s RACTrac application.

Ultimate Software, based in Weston, Fla., has announced that the McLaren Health Care Corporation, an integrated healthcare network with approximately 13,000 employees in more than 135 locations, has selected UltiPro, the company’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) HR, payroll, recruitment, onboarding, performance management and learning management platform.

The QuadraMed Corporation of Reston, Va., has announced that Wake Forest University Medical Center has selected the company’s Enterprise Scheduling (QES) solution to schedule ancillary procedures and accelerate reimbursements.

Novation, the supply contracting are of Irving, Texas-based VHA, Inc., the University HealthSystem Consortium and Provista, has awarded a multi-source agreement to the International Business Solutions Alliance of Dayton, Ohio, Mobile Aspects of Pittsburgh and Stanley InnerSpace of Grand Rapids, Mich., for the continuing development of passive RFID inventory management systems.

Executive Health Resources, Inc., a Newtown Square, Pa.-based developer of real-time point-of-care physician advisor solutions, has signed a partnership agreement with the University HealthSystem Consortium of Oak Brook, Ill., that will make EHR’s Physician Advisor solutions available to all UHC members. The agreement gives UHC’s 107 academic medical centers and 220 affiliate hospitals access to EHR’s Concurrent Medicare Medical Necessity Compliance, Medicaid Medical Necessity Compliance, Retrospective Governmental Payor Appeals Solutions (including Comprehensive RAC, MAC, MIC and Q10 denial management), Managed Care/Commercial Payer Appeals and Expert Advisory Services.

Univita Health, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based developer of home-centered healthcare solutions for the independent aging community, has acquired Atenda Healthcare Solutions, Inc., a home health benefit management company serving Georgia and Florida, and its affiliated companies, including Florida Home Medical Equipment, Inc.

Lawson Software, a St. Paul, Minn.-based provider of business intelligence solutions, has announced the acquisition of Healthvision, a Dallas-based provider of healthcare technology, including application integration and healthcare information exchange platforms.

NuPhysicia LLC, a Texas-based developer of telemedicine services, has expanded its Medicine At Work telemedicine workplace clinic program to Atlanta.
