Vendor Notebook: SciQuest, OB-10 join forces for integrated e-services

SciQuest, a Cary, N.C.-based provider of procurement and supplier enhancement solutions, is joining forces with Atlanta-based e-invoicing provider OB-10 to offer an integrated e-procurement and e-invoicing service for healthcare providers and other industries.

CSI Financial Services of San Diego has announced agreements with St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, the Blanchard Valley Health System in Findlay, Ohio, and St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind., through which CSI will offer zer0- and low-interest bank loans to
patients.

The CBORD Group, an Ithaca, N.Y.-based provider of food and nutrition management and cashless card systems to healthcare facilities, has expanded its relationship with the Amerinet group purchasing organization through May 31, 2012.

MedAssets, Inc., based in Atlanta, has been selected as the preferred replacement for the Ascent contract management solution for hospitals from Thomson Reuters. The Ascent solution will be discontinued Dec. 31, 2012, at which time MedAssets’ Contract Manager solution will be activated.

Craneware, Inc., an Atlanta-based provider of automated revenue integrity solutions for healthcare providers, has launched “Stop the Leakage,” a campaign designed to provide the industry with information on how to use technology to stop revenue leakage and better meet healthcare reform requirements.

Wolters Kluwer Health, based in Philadelphia, has announced that the Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa, Okla., will use the company’s ProVation MD software for cardiology procedure documentation and coding at St. Francis Hospital.

VHA, Inc., an Irving, Texas-based healthcare network, has announced several enhancements to its PriceLYNX 2.0 supply chain management solution.

Pitney Bowes Management Services, Inc., of Stamford, Conn., has entered into a reseller agreement with Omtool, Ltd., of Andover, Mass., to license Omtool’s AccuRoute document capture and handling solution to PBMS customers.

Aprima Medical Software, based in Carrollton, Texas, has announced that the company’s Version 2011 Electronic Health Record has been pre-market certified by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology as an Ambulatory EHR additionally certified for Child Health EHR technology.

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., based in Horsham, Pa., has announced an agreement with the Gardner family Health Network to deploy the NextGen Ambulatory EHR and Practice Management systems, as well as the QSI Dental System, at Gardner’s five California health centers.

PatientPoint, an Orlando, Fla.-based provider of multi-channel self-service applications for the healthcare industry, has announced contracts with Florida Cardiology, P.A., in central Florida; Southlake Orthopaedics in Birmingham, Ala.; University Internal Medicine and Diabetes Associates, Inc., of St. Louis; Clara Roman, MD, in Orlando, Fla.; and BillingNetwork of Sarasota, Fla.

Zynx Health, a Los Angeles-based provider of evidence-based and experience-based clinical decision support solutions, has deployed its ZynxOrder evidence-based order sets at the Virginia-based Riverside Health System’s Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Riverside Tappahannock Hospital and Riverside Regional Medical Center.

Compliance 360, an Atlanta-based provider of enterprise governance, risk management and compliance solutions, has launched a “Cash for Clunkers” trade-in program for healthcare providers who initially invested in low-end, limited-function software applications for managing overpayment recovery audits including Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) audits and Medicaid Integrity Contractor (MIC) audits. The company is offering trade-in credits for providers leasing the Compliance 360 Claims Auditor solution.

IBM has signed a five-year service agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts to help BCBSM reshape its IT infrastructure, a move designed to generate approximately $16
million annually in savings for the insurer.

MedeAnalytics, an Emeryville, Calif.-based provider of healthcare performance management solutions, has launched the Clinical-Financial Performance Management Framework, offering a crosswalk analysis of all the requirements faced by hospitals as well as information about the nature and potential financial and non-financial risks associated with the requirements. The company has also announced the availability of a Healthcare Reform Risk Assessment, which evaluates a hospital’s ability to meet healthcare reform requirements administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and a Meaningful Use Risk Assessment. Finally, the company has launched its new Enterprise Performance Management solution, through its new partnership with OnFocus Healthcare.

The NCR Corporation of Duluth, Ga., has announced that the Richmond Bone & Joint Clinic in Houston has deployed the NCR MediKiosk patient self-service solution in three of its four offices, allowing patients to check in for scheduled appointments and remit co-pays and outstanding balances.

The RealMed Corporation, and Indianapolis-based provider of Web-based revenue cycle management solutions, has announced the launch of RealClean, an advanced claims editing solution, and RealAssure, a patient payment assurance solution.
