Canopy Financial, a San Francisco-based developer of healthcare banking technology services, has acquired CareGain, Inc., a subsidiary of Chicago-based Fiserv, Inc. that provides consumer-directed healthcare account administration and management software to health plans.

HCCS, based in Jericho, NY, has announced a partnership with Medical Learning, Inc (MedLearn) to deliver a new series of online, interactive training courses covering coding, billing and reimbursement.

ASAP Systems of San Jose, Calif. has announced the launch of Passport, an asset-management software system designed to give healthcare IT departments a powerful, easily configurable and customizable platform to manage the lifecycle of inventory and assets.

MedAssets, Inc. of Atlanta has released a Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) software package to support healthcare providers’ efforts to address RAC audits. In addition, the company has signed a five-year agreement with West Tennessee Healthcare of Jackson, Tenn. for supply chain management services.

Zotec Partners, an Indianapolis-based provider of medical billing, practice management and radiology information systems (RIS) software, has announced that PC, Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska has licensed the company’s electronic billing center (EBC) suite, which includes the EZ Med portal and decision support tools.

ZirMed, a developer of revenue cycle management products, has begun readying its transaction processing platforms for the upcoming migration of HIPAA transactions to version 5010 as well as the adoption of the new ICD-10 code sets.

Artificial Medical Intelligence (AMI) of Seattle has announced that Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, N.J. is implementing its EMscribe DX computer-assisted coding (CAC) solution to automated the coding of inpatient and outpatient records for streamlined billing and coding efficiencies.

Plexis Healthcare Systems of Ashland, Ore. has announced the release of Plexis Claims Manager Version 8.
