MALVERN, PA – Siemens Healthcare clients looking to upgrade their legacy patient accounting systems will have help switching to the company’s revenue cycle management platform, thanks to a new partnership with Cymetrix.

The Irvine, Calif.-based developer of RCM solutions announced on Tuesday that, through the new partnership, it will help Siemens customers convert to Siemens Soarian Financials. Company officials say the Cymetrix Adaptive Revenue Cycle Model will preserve the continuity of healthcare providers’ cash flow and other RCM capabilities during the switch-over to an up-to-date solution.

Siemens officials say Soarian Financials helps healthcare providers streamline their RCM operations with point-of-service and integrated medical-necessity processing tools, as well as encounter preparation worklists, contract management tools, billing exception reporting, eligibility workflow and claims editing functions, document imaging, denial avoidance and management and business analytics tools.

Healthcare providers looking to reduce expenses and qualify for federal stimulus funding are replacing legacy systems with more up-to-date solutions that include analytics tools, interactive dashboards and direct links with clinical and supply chain operations to coordinate costs.

"More and more healthcare organizations are seeking a safety-net during the complex and lengthy patient accounting system conversion process. In today's economy, healthcare organizations are demanding solutions that improve cash flow and are quick to implement," said Michael Halberda, president and CEO of Cymetrix.

“At Siemens, we are committed to providing our customers with strong options and the conversion support necessary to accelerate their adoption of Soarian and this agreement will assist customers in a seamless transition,” added David M. Hamilton, senior vice president of enterprise services for Siemens Healthcare's health IT business, based in Malvern, Pa.

Three months ago, Siemens announced a new 10-year contract with El Centro Regional Medical in El Centro, Calif., to implement Soarian Clinicals and Soarian Financials, upgrading the health system’s computerized physician order entry, clinical analytics, patient access and physician revenue management functions.

“Soarian’s flexibility, broad functionality suite and ease of use made it the clear choice for us, not to mention that it demonstrates real potential to meet the just-released certification requirements for an electronic health record system,” said John Gaede, the medical center’s CIO, in a Sept. 27 press release prepared by Siemens. “With Soarian, we are prepared for the coming demand for EHR reporting and required analytical measures.”

In October, Cymetrix announced an agreement to implement its RCM solution at Eisenhower Medical Center and Clinics in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

“As a nationally recognized leader in hospital revenue cycle management, Cymetrix has proven their ability to deliver and sustain high financial performance from the organizations with which they are affiliated,” said Kimberly A. Osborne, the medical center’s chief financial officer. “This partnership not only affords Eisenhower Medical Center the opportunity to create a world class revenue cycle program, but also to enhance the patient experience while delivering excellence in healthcare.”
