Mercy, a 33-hospital health system based in Chesterfield, Mo., has dismissed Randy Combs, executive vice president and CFO. Shannon Sock, executive vice president of organization effectiveness, will now serve as CFO, while retaining his current duties. Mercy's Oklahoma market CFO Jon Vitiello has been appointed senior vice president of finance. In addition to Combs’ departure, Mercy has dismissed Sheri Beekman, chief revenue cycle officer, and Donna Chandler, vice president for patient receivables. Kim Day, former president of Mercy's central region, will provide interim supervision of the health system's revenue management team.
WellCare Health Plans announced that Tom Tran, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will leave the company. He has agreed to help facilitate a transition to a new CFO and will remain with WellCare until a successor is appointed or until November 30, 2014.
Jim Forstner has been named senior vice president and chief strategy officer by DeKalb Medical, a three-hospital health system based in Decatur, Ga.
WellStar Health System, a five-hospital system in Marietta, Ga., has appointed Kevin Deter to be the new chief operating officer for WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Ga.
