Intermedix acquires billing services division of ESO Solutions
The Intermedix Corporation, a provider of business services to emergency providers, has acquired the assets and operations of the billing services division of ESO Solutions, Inc.
Intermedix, based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will take over the Acquired Billing Operations of Austin, Texas-based ESO, and the latter company will continue to provide its electronic patient care reporting services to clients of the ABO and other organizations.
ABO delivers billing services to EMS providers in Texas, Arizona, California, Missouri, New Mexico, South Carolina, Washington and Wisconsin.
"This acquisition enables us to further solidify our market leadership in important geographies and to strengthen our management team," said Doug Shamon, CEO of Intermedix. "It also enables us to further strengthen our capabilities in non-emergency ground medical transportation billing, which accounts for 35 percent of ESO's billing business."
Intermedix serves the emergency physician and hospital emergency department market through its subsidiary EPBS-Intermedix and the emergency medical services (ambulance) market through its subsidiary ADPI-Intermedix.
"We are confident that our customers will greatly benefit from this decision," said Chris Dillie, CEO of ESO, in a statement. "The acquisition of our Billing Services Division by Intermedix will allow ESO to focus solely on continuing to provide EMS and Fire software solutions ... to a larger client base."
