The Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care partnership has opened its first urgent care center in Avon, Connecticut, the companies announced. The joint venture was announced in late January.
The new center will operate seven days a week with extended evening hours, take walk-in patients and offer online check-in so that patients can "save their spot." The center boasts transparent charting on a wide screen in each exam room, mobile X-ray equipment and a unified electronic medical record accessible by caregivers throughout the Hartford HealthCare network.
Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care said they plan to open at least 15 centers within the next 18 months, spanning Hartford HealthCare's service area.
"Our access-minded, patient-first approach to urgent care, combined with Hartford Healthcare's long history of high-quality care will provide residents of the Avon community with the kind of urgent care they deserve and can be proud of," said Todd Latz, CEO of GoHealth Urgent Care.
GoHealth Urgent Care operates more than 60 urgent care centers in the New York and Portland, Oregon metropolitan areas, the San Francisco Bay Area and central and eastern Connecticut. The company's current partners include Northwell Health in New York, Legacy Health in the Portland-Vancouver area, San Francisco-based Dignity Health and Hartford HealthCare.
Hartford HealthCare includes a tertiary-care teaching hospital, acute-care community teaching hospital, acute-care hospital and trauma center, two community hospitals, behavioral health services, primary care physician practice and cancer institute with five cancer centers among other services.
