SOUTH MIAMI – Baptist Health South Florida saw a large return on investment while using AutoMate as its health automations system, said Jason Stoyles, corporate manager of interfaces and integration.
“About four years ago we had a problem that we needed to solve with claims processing,” he said. The software improved the third party billing process, streamlining it. In all, he said, the system has seen a savings, on all processes, of about $250,000 since implementation.
AutoMate and the FTP processes are running on a central server for the not-for-profit healthcare organization, and the system is able to do 50 to 60 processes at a time. Stoyles calls the server a “central brain," and says “AutoMate has saved Baptist numerous man hours.”
The software audits and centralizes the system’s documentation and administration of all internal processes. “It allows us to maintain compliance with all the regulations out there,” said Stoyles.
Baptist soon plans to upgrade to the AutoMate 7 product, and will migrate all of its information to the platform from AutoMate 6.
AutoMate “really benefited the IT and patient finance departments that deal with a lot of files and movement of files,” said Stoyles.
