Massive Medicaid enrollment boost on the horizon

The expansion of Medicaid under the federal healthcare reform law is going to initiate one of the largest enrollment efforts in Medicaid’s history.

A new study from the Kaiser Family Foundation’s Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured concludes that states will need to be prepared with the necessary systems, technology, and administrative capacity in place to process new Medicaid enrollments and coordinate coverage and care with the new Health Insurance Exchanges when the expansion goes into effect in 2014.
